Episode 7 (Part II): A Good Crisis?

This was our first real live episode! In part II of A Good Crisis, we move from talking about how crises have been constructed and/or manipulated over Trump’s Presidency to the crises of today. We look at two competing crises: the coronavirus pandemic and also the civil unrest in the US, and how these two items are affecting the US voting public. The effect of each crisis is largely determined by the media coverage surrounding it, which means it is essential to be wary of false narratives. As such, when we examine the popular leftist claim that Trump is somehow responsible for all the deaths due to the coronavirus, it quickly becomes evident that there are many more government figures involved in decision-making that share or have greater responsibility than Trump does. Likewise, the claim that President Trump has been stoking either racism or violence in response to the civil unrest in the US is equally flawed. As we have seen in past episodes, Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa are Marxist-controlled movements that want to tear apart Western society. When Trump addressed the claim of systemic racism in policing throughout the US - by BLM and Antifa - he looked to local-level black leaders for solutions. He invited them to the White House to discuss those potential solutions. He did not respond with name-calling or by sending in the troops, as Senator Tom Cotton suggested. Today’s crises - however they were created - are being wrongfully blamed on Donald Trump, and all to manipulate the vote. Original air date: August 6, 2020. Running time: 38 minutes 51 seconds.
