Episode 2: Hands in the Air, Canada! (But not in a good way)

To understand exactly where the Marxist policies of socialism/communism inevitably lead, we look into China’s recent past. Referring to Frank Dikötter’s book “Mao’s Great Famine”, we examine the monumental failure of Chairman Mao Zedong’s promised ‘Great Leap Forward’, an effort to come up to speed with the developed world in both industry and agriculture. This initiative to “stand on two legs” was first attempted from 1955-1956, and then finally and catastrophically from 1958-1962. Collectivization of the Chinese countryside effectively lead to a famine where an estimated 30 million Chinese peasants died. Original air date: February 29, 2020. Running time: 33 minutes 20 seconds.
