Totalitarianism has never been a first choice – for any nation. Whether it was China’s escape from their “Century of Humiliation”, Germany’s escape from economic desperation, or the Russian answer to a brutal autocracy, Totalitarianism was originally promised as a savior. Totalitarianism has never been born under the overt will to crush mankind, that is simply its inescapable end. Instead, the good intentions of many have paved the road to hell on earth, and never to a savior.
